The original is painted on 6″ x 18″ cold press watercolor paper and was my first venture into traditional color in a few years. I’ve been using primarily Photoshop for coloring and I had forgotten how much fun the tactile sensation of painting could be. The piece is based on of a sketch that I did of one of the lions in front of the NYC Public Library which I added a silhouette of Manhattan to the side. My trip to the NYC Public Library was part of my “I’m going to geek out and let my inner 8-year-old run wild in NYC by visiting filming locations from Ghostbusters” adventure.
